Hello there,

My name is Gar Byrne, I'm a photographer based
in Dublin, a lover of dogs and sandwiches, and also the Drummer of The Riptide Movement... And if you haven't already noticed, I'm only slightly obsessed with taking photos of the Poolbeg Towers and older men.

I love natural emotion in photography. Personally,
I prefer candid or story telling photography. I'm always seeking out those softer moments. I shoot street photography, weddings, landscape, events, products and everything in between.

I recently came first place in the Igersdublin Gallery night out of 900 images! I know right?!

I have been featured on: The Irish Times, The Journal, Irish Light, Discover Ireland, Tourism Ireland, Dublin Daily, Document Dublin, Lovin Dublin Igers-Dublin, Discover Dublin and many more.

If you have any questions about bookings or
prints please feel free to email me.

Thanks a million, look after yourself.

I went viral!!! (Sort of.)

I took this photo in April 2015 right after Joe Caslin had finished this incredible paper design before the marriage equality referendum in May. I was flying to Berlin the next day and scheduled the post to go up on Facebook as I was in the air and by the time I had got back onto the grid at lunchtime it had been shared 15 thousand times. It has since been shared and reposted 44 thousand times and has been seen by over 356 thousand people.

To me it sums up Dublin... Why go bald? Dublin Bus, Dame street and Georges Street, those traffic lights that we've all stood at a million times, ricks burgers, the mercantile and that unbelievable piece of artwork by one of Ireland's greatest artists. It feels to me like a modern day meeting on the turret stairs.
